Decarbonisation

Noun

Decarbonisation relates to the practice of reducing or removing carbon dioxide (CO2) output into the atmosphere. Decarbonisation is largely achieved by switching to usage of low-carbon energy sources such as Tidal Power or Wind Power.

💡To Note:

  • Decarbonisation is used as a catch-all term for general reductions in Greenhouse Gases (including, for instance, Methane emissions)

  • Decarbonisation is the key activity delivered as part of Net Zero
