Grey Hydrogen

Noun

Hydrogen produced from natural gas or methane using a process called steam reforming. It produces CO2 as a byproduct of the process. This is very similar to the process for blue hydrogen, but with grey hydrogen the CO2 isn’t captured or utilised, so its emissions and impact are higher than blue hydrogen.

💡To Note:

Other types of hydrogen include blue hydrogen, green hydrogen, and black and brown hydrogen.
