Terms and Conditions

This agreement lays out the terms and conditions between Furthr Ltd (a company incorporated in England with the registered address Furthr Ltd Kemp House, 152 - 160 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, company number 12521917) also referred to as “Furthr”, “we”, “us” or “our” and any persons (also referred to as “you” or “your” or “customer” or “customers” or “the customers”) who use the Furthr website (the “site”) or enter into a prize draw run by Furthr.
You may not use the site or enter into a prize draw if you are under 18 years old or live outside of the United Kingdom (“UK”). Upon purchasing a subscription through Furthr you are required to accept the terms and conditions of this contract. Entering into a prize draw via post, you will be asked to write that you accept the terms and conditions of this contract. By accepting these terms and conditions you legally accept the agreement and all clauses outlined in it which shall be binding on you. These terms and conditions are the latest version of the agreement and were last updated on 14th May 2020.
Furthr reserves the right to make amendments to our terms and conditions at any time at its sole discretion. Customers can withdraw from these terms and conditions if they do not agree with changes by cancelling their subscription. As a commitment to our users and in line with our core value of transparency we will always ensure to communicate changes to the terms and conditions applicable to you via email and always have available the latest version of the terms and conditions through the site.
This site exists to provide customers with the ability to purchase monthly subscriptions, in which they plant trees monthly and fund carbon offsetting projects monthly by purchasing carbon credits. A carbon credit is a product that enables the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. One carbon credit outputs the removal of one ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as verified by an environmental standards body.
Each of our monthly subscription plans, referred to as 'Subscription Plans', allow customers to fund carbon offsetting projects across the world monthly by purchasing carbon credits monthly, whilst also automatically entering customers into a monthly prize draw run by Furthr.
Customers wanting to participate in the prize draw may enter either by purchasing one of the 'Subscription Plans', which will automatically enter them to the prize draw every month they maintain their subscription (non-receipt of funds will invalidate entry). Else, customers can enter for free via post for a specific month’s prize draw.
Once a customer signs up to a subscription plan, they will have an account made for them where (once verified) they can log in to manage their account and view figures on the trees they have planted and carbon they have offsetted. Customers wishing to delete their account should also contact Furthr using the contact form in the account page in order to ensure deletion of account.
All currency on the site is in Great British Pounds (£) and payment must be in Great British Pound (£).
As a growing organisation we expect to change parts of the website frequently and therefore reserve the right to change the site with no requirement to inform customers of Furthr and with no notice period. Major changes to the site that will affect existing subscription customers will be communicated via email.
All aspects of the site including but not limited to the copy, logo, graphics and arrangement are the intellectual property of Furthr and cannot be used, copied or modified anywhere without the express written permission from Furthr. Site visitors and customers should understand that any communications from customers, postal entries or suggested improvements for the site or any aspect of Furthr from feedback will become property of Furthr.
Correspondence with Furthr must be in English.
After your use of the site, or acceptance of these terms and conditions, you agree that no joint venture, partnership, or agency relationship exists between you and Furthr.
Furthr runs a monthly free prize draw. Furthr does not run a lottery, is not a gambling company and therefore does not need a gambling license to operate. Furthr is kept outside of the UK Gambling Comission’s remit by providing a free entry route to its monthly prize draw. There is more detail on this in our Free Entry Route to Prize Draw section of the terms and conditions.
A prize draw period is one calendar month long and represents the time within which participants can enter into that period’s prize draw. The deadline for entry into any given month’s prize draw will be at 23:59 on the last day of that prize draw’s prize draw period. The odds of winning a prize depend on the number of tickets you have entered into the draw as well as the number of other entries from customers.
The prize draw itself is held 3 working days after the last day of a prize draw period, with winners being announced no more than 2 working days after the prize draw has occurred. For full details on the exact dates of prize draw periods and draws, please see the site’s FAQs.
Every entry into the prize draw, paid or otherwise, may consist of multiple tickets. Entry to any prize draw does not guarantee a prize. Below outlines the number of tickets associated with each of the Site’s subscription plans as well as the free entry route.
Free entry to a prize draw via the postal entry route will have 3 tickets entered per prize draw period. Customers entering for free will have to enter via post for every single prize draw that they want to be entered into. Entering into a prize draw for free via post will not enter you into any future prize draws after the specific prize draw to which your postal entry relates.
Subscription Plans that cost £4 will have 2 tickets entered into the prize draw per month.
Subscription Plans that cost £8 will have 5 tickets entered into the prize draw per month.
Subscription Plans that cost £12 will have 8 tickets entered into the prize draw per month.
Subscription Plans that cost £16 will have 12 tickets entered into the prize draw per month.
Subscription Plans that cost £20 will have 16 tickets entered into the prize draw per month.
Employees, shareholders and directors of Furthr are not allowed to enter any prize draw run through the site or through free entry route.
Cost Breakdown of Subscription Plans
Customers who purchase Subscription Plans from Furthr understand that their monthly subscription payment is broken down as follows:
75% of their monthly subscription payment will go to funding the tree planting and carbon offsetting projects we support; With 34% going to tree planting projects and 41% going to carbon offsetting projects. These percentages include the payment processing fees associated with purchasing carbon offsets from our projects and sending donations over to plant trees (circa 3-4%).
5% of their monthly subscription payment will go to the pool of money to form the prize draw pot, from which the next month’s prizes are drawn. Furthr may add in additional funds and prizes to improve the desirability and the size of the prize draw fund and prizes;
Approximately 10% of their monthly subscription payment will be put towards marketing costs. Furthr reserves the right to contribute more capital for extra marketing on top of what is paid for by customers; and
Approximately 10% of their monthly subscription payment will be kept for other running costs and profit.
Funding of Carbon Offsetting Projects
Customers understand that the tonnage of carbon offsetted within subscription plans and in their account dashboard are based on actual historical operating costs of purchasing carbon credits from the carbon credit marketplaces and suppliers that we work with. These costs may vary from time to time as the price of carbon credits bought from marketplace or suppliers changes, the exchange rate fluctuates and we add or remove offset projects.
If the price of carbon credits change, this may affect the carbon offsetting metrics surfaced on the subscription plan descriptions on the site. As such, Furthr reserves the right to update the carbon offsetting metrics relating to the amount of CO2 offset through the subscription plans immediately with no notice period. If the unlikely scenario arises that the carbon credits have run out for a specific project listed on the site as a project we are funding at that time, Furthr will ensure funds raised for this project will be channeled to an alternative project with the same verification body and with the same general type of project (e.g Renewable Energy) but we cannot commit to this new project having the same price of carbon credits.
Funding of Tree Planting Projects
Customers understand that number of trees planted within subscription plans and in their account dashboard are based on actual historical operating costs of donating to the reforestation partner that plants trees for us. These costs are $0.10 per tree planted.
Processing Fees Communicated On The Site
Customers understand that costs relating to money processing fees are based on actual historical operating costs that are an average across different subscription plans and may vary from time to time.
Right to Amend Subscription Cost Breakdown and Subscription Prices
Furthr reserves the right to change the cost breakdown of subscription plans and prices with one month’s notice at its sole discretion. Furthr will communicate any changes both via email and through the site if changes are made. Furthr accepts no responsibility for customers not receiving this correspondence email through not having an up to date email account connected to their account.
If customers do not agree to changes to subscription plans or prices of subscription plans, customers can withdraw from the terms and conditions by cancelling their subscription.
As part of our Subscription Plans, all customers will be required to open an account and give information including but not limited to: their first name, last name and email address, billing address, password and card details. It is the responsibility of the customer to make sure that all information is accurate and up to date.
If customers’ details are not up to date and they are signed up to a “Prize Draw Subscriptions” or “Prize Draw Included”, their entry to the prize draw may not be valid if their details do not match their identification documents when cross checked as part of the winner verification process, should a customer win a prize.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure a strong password is used to access their online account and is not shared with anyone. Furthr is not responsible for any damage or loss resulting from your password being compromised or from customers not updating email addresses.
Customers should contact Furthr if they are changing email address or card details for their account in order to not negatively impact their chances of winning prizes. They should email email@example.com.
Accounts are limited at one account per person. The sharing of accounts or holding of multiple accounts by customers is not allowed and customer accounts will be terminated if customers are found to have multiple or shared accounts.
Furthr may terminate this contract if it is found that a user has violated these terms and conditions at any time, and Furthr may terminate this contract for any reason at the discretion of Furthr.
Cancellation, Downgrade, Upgrade or Swapping of Subscription Plans
If a customer wants to cancel their subscription plan, they can do so from their manage subscription page after they have logged into the Furthr platform. Customers will receive a confirmation email once their subscription has been cancelled.
If customers have already paid entry into a prize draw via a Subscription Plan, customers will still be entered into the prize draw for that month and the payment they have already made will still contribute to all costs broken down in the breakdown of subscription costs section for that month even after cancelling their subscription.
Cancelation of a customers’ subscription plan does not delete their account. Customers can request to delete their account and personal data entirely by using the contact form in the account page.
If a customer wants to upgrade or downgrade their subscription plan, they can do so from their manage subscriptions page once they have logged in. Upgrading or downgrading subscription plan will require selecting the new subscription plan they wish to upgrade, downgrade or swap to. Customers will not be charged for their new subscription plan until the following month’s payment collection date (timed in the same payment cadence as the previous plan).
Once paid, the monthly subscription fee is considered non-refundable and will only be refunded at the discretion of Furthr or if there is a proven case of payment fraud.
Promotional Codes and / or Links
Occasionally, Furthr may make promotional codes available for new or existing customers. These promotional codes may offer deals such as first of subscription month free, a percentage discount or may include prize draw tickets. These promotional codes are not redeemable for cash. For percentage discount promotions, the discount will come from the following parts of the subscription breakdown in priority order until the discount toal is reached: Marketing followed by "Keeping Furthr running". Furthr reserves the right to make changes to promotional code campaigns at any point in time without notice.
If Furthr discovers a customer abusing a promotional code scheme through signing up with multiple accounts it reserves the right to terminate accounts at its own discretion.
Occasionally, Furthr may run a rewards campaign where existing customers can invite others to become Furthr customers. In such a campaign there may be discounts or prizes for the inviter, the invited or both. In order for any party to claim the rewards offered in the scheme the following condition must be met:
The invited party must not be an existing customer with a valid Furthr account
The invited party must not have signed up to the site already using a different referral code or link
The inviter party must have valid Furthr account as a registered customer
Discounts gained through referral schemes are not redeemable for cash. Furthr reserves the right to make changes to referral scheme campaigns at any point in time without notice. If Furthr discovers a customer abusing a referral scheme campaign through signing up with multiple accounts it reserves the right to terminate accounts with no notice at its own discretion.
Prize Draw Tickets Awarded as Prizes
Occasionally, Furthr may award prize draw tickets for future prize draws to existing or new customers as bonus prizes. These bonus prize draw tickets have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash.
CO2 Metrics & Calculations
Every subscription has an associated amount of carbon offsetted per month, which is driven directly from a carbon credit purchase. Furthr purchases these carbon credits from reputable carbon credit marketplaces or carbon credit suppliers.
We create equivalent carbon offset comparisons from the carbon credits each subscription plan purchases. An example is likening a monthly carbon offset amount to an equivalent number of beef steaks offsetted per month . This is to humanise the carbon that is offsetted for our customers. We do this for the convenience and enjoyment of customers and have taken reasonable care to ensure these figures are accurate but we make no claims that these figures are exact. All calculations have been produced on a reasonable endeavors basis and any reliance on this information on this site is made at your own risk.
Once signed up, customers will be able to view their (cumulative) personal metrics on how much CO2 they have offset from within their my account dashboard after logging into the Furthr platform. Due to the potential month-my-month changes in the price of carbon credits, customers’ monthly offset figures that get added to their my account dashboard may change from month to month.

Tree Planting Calculations
Every subscription has an associated amount of trees planted per month, which is driven directly from the cost of donation for each tree planted ($0.10 a tree, with 39% of each subscription spend going to tree planting). Furthr plants trees with our reforestation partner.
Once signed up, customers will be able to view their (cumulative) number of trees planted.
Free Entry Route to Prize Draw
The free entry route into the prize draw is available for UK residents, who are over the age of 18. Free entries are limited at one per prize draw period. To enter for free, customers should write a letter (using first or second class mail services) to Furthr at the following address:

For valid entry and into the prize draw the letter must include:
Your desire to enter into that month’s prize draw (must specify which month’s prize draw and the date of writing)
Your agreement to these terms and conditions
Your consent for us to contact you on the provided email address if you should win a prize
All free entries are treated exactly the same as paid entries with an equal chance of winning the prize draw but won’t be contributing to offsetting carbon and thus won’t receive personalised carbon offsetting metrics. Those entering the prize draw should not create an online account. As any draw will occur 3 working days after the end of the prize draw period, postal entries will have three working days to be received by Furthr after the end of the prize draw period. Where free postal entries are received outside of the prize draw period and outside of the 3 working day grace period they will not count towards the prize draw for which you have entered.
Paid Entry Route to Prize Draw
To gain automatic entry every month into the prize draw, customers should sign up to and purchase a “Renewable Funding + Prize Draw Entry” or “Prize Draw Included” subscription plan. Customers must be UK residents who are over the age of 18. The first payment will be taken on the date the customer signs up with all future payments coming out on the same date every month. Payments may come out earlier on months where the same date as the initial month of purchase is not possible. For example, if a customer signed up on the 31st of May, the payment in June may come out on the 30th of June.
Prizes in the prize draw are subject to change month to month. The prizes for a prize draw will be publicized through the site. Once a prize draw period has opened, the prizes available for that prize draw period won’t change, except to add additional prizes at the discretion of Furthr.
As well as cash prizes, Furthr reserves the right to provide third party products and additional trees as prizes into the prize draw. Any third party product prizes or trees will be additional to the prize draw fund generated by subscriptions. Third party products will not be paid for with the prize draw fund generated by subscriptions.
Third party product prizes are non-refundable or exchangeable. All cash prizes won in the prize draw are paid as a fixed sum. Furthr subscribers who win cash prizes can however also exchange their cash prize for the equivilent value in trees. These trees can then be kept by the prize winner or "gifted" to either other subscribers or new customers.
Third party products may be made available as prizes in the prize draw for the enjoyment of Furthr customers but Furthr takes no responsibility and no liability for any third party products.
Prize Draw Winner Selection
Participants’ individual tickets are assigned a unique identifier per ticket which are used to pick winners at random, using an independent, robust and verifiable fair random number generator that is not just a standard computer application with an inbuilt random function.
Participants tickets will be run through the random number generator (the prize draw date) 3 working days after the final day of the prize draw period.
Upon request customers can ask to have their unique identifier for their tickets given to them and they can check with our third party provider the validity of a specific prize draw.
However, Furthr’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into about the result of the draw following the announcement of the winners.
Announcement of Prize Winners
No more than two working days after the prize draw has happened and winners have been selected, all subscription customers will receive an email notification letting them know if they have won or lost. Customers’ personal details will not be made publicly available through the email or site without express written permission from customers as in the case of customer testimonials.
Whilst we will send e-mails to customers notifying them if they have won or lost, we have no obligation to confirm you have receipt of the email.

Payment of Prizes to Winners
Prizes will be paid out to winners after having their age and identity verified (subject to eligibility). Winners will have to provide identification with a proof of address - to the satisfaction of Furthr.
Prize Winners will have a 20 days claim period in which they can claim their prize(s) and prove eligibility before the uncollected prize(s) will be added to the prize draw pot for the following month’s prize draw. If customers fail to claim a prize within 20 days, any prize will be deemed forfeited and the customer shall have no claim whatsoever in respect of any such prize amount. The uncollected prize(s) at the end of the 20 day claiming period shall be added to the prize draw of the following month to when the claim period began. For instance, if a prize winner does not claim their prize within the 20 day claim period, and this is halfway through a prize draw period, it will be then be added as a prize in the following period.
No extra payment is necessary to collect the awarded prize. Winners may, in some cases, have to sign paper-work to re-confirm their eligibility as a prize winner following initial eligibility check.
Cash prizes will be paid out through an online payment processor, where winners will need to create an account with the online payments processor to receive cash prizes. We may ask for participants’ shipping details for third party physical prizes.
If a participant wins a prize but it is later found out that they are not eligible for the prize, they will not receive the prize and the prize shall be added to the prize draw of the following month to when the ineligibility was discovered. For instance, if we find that a prize winner is ineligible for a prize half way through a prize draw period it will be then be added as a prize to the prize draw of the following period. If a participant had been a UK resident upon signing up to the subscription but has since moved abroad, they will not be eligible for a prize.
Furthr makes no warranty or guarantee that use of the website will be uninterrupted or error free. Furthr does not warrant that you will be able to access the site at any time and from any location. Furthr makes no guarantees that the site will meet your requirements or expectations.
Limitation of Liability
None of Furthr (including shareholders, directors, employees and agents), selected carbon offsetting projects, any carbon credits platform, any carbon credits supplier or sponsors and partners will be liable for this agreement or tort (including negligence) relating to this fundraising capability for the following:
late, lost, incomplete, illegible or undeliverable email or post;
any computer, satellite, telephone, cable, network malfunctions, failures or unavailability, or internet accessibility;
Loss of profit, loss of data or loss of expected savings;
Loss or damage to prizes once dispatched;
Any indirect, incidental or special damages;
The inability to use the site; or
The loss of opportunity to enter into a prize draw and/or claim a prize
It is the customer’s responsibility to pay for charges and fees associated with internet connection when accessing the Furthr site.
In no event shall Furthr be responsible or liable for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations hereunder arising out of or caused by, directly or indirectly, forces beyond its control, including, without limitation, accidents, strikes, work stoppages, acts of war or terrorism, civil or military disturbances, nuclear or natural catastrophes or acts of God, and interruptions, loss or malfunctions of utilities, communications or computer (software and hardware) services; it being understood that Furthr shall use reasonable efforts to resume performance as soon as possible under the circumstances.
Third Party Links
Third party web links may direct you to third party sites that are not affiliated with Furthr. Furthr does not accept responsibility for the content on those sites, does not warrant and does not accept any liability for materials on those third party sites. Complains, concerts and queries relating to third party sites should be made directly to the third parties.
In case any terms in this agreement shall be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining agreement shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby and such provision shall be ineffective only to the extent of such invalidity, illegality or unenforceability.
Participants agree that unless prohibited by law, you promise to bring all disputes, causes of action and claims against Furthr to Furthr individually in the first instance, without resorting to any form of court action.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, United Kingdom. Any dispute arising out of the use of the site will be subject to the jurisdiction of Courts in England, United Kingdom.
Data Privacy Notice
Through using the site or clicking that you have read and understand the terms and conditions, you also agree that you have read and agree to our Data Privacy Notice as well as to these terms and conditions. Furthr may revise the Data Privacy Notice at any time, and the new versions will be posted on the site with significant changes communicated to customers via email. If at any point, you do not agree to any section of the Data Privacy Notice, you must immediately stop using the site and service.
